Is is a Christmas tree farm? And do you hope to sell the trees? Christmas tree farming is somewhat complicated and requires very specific trimming. You should contact your local agricultural department and ask if they have printed material or can suggest a course for you to take.

If the trees were planted for reforestation, they should be thinned about every ten years. If you don't know how to do this, you can get a logger to do it. Again, your local agricultural agent will have info about this.

If the trees are ornamental, you don't need to trim them unless some are specifically getting too big for their location. Then you can either cut off the lower branches or remove the tree altogether.

How many acres came with your house? Good grief thats a lot of trees. The up keep will be tremendious . I suggest perhaps of cutting some completly off. Cause they are needle trees. Needle's will fall of those tree's every season. I know from experience in my own garden. But I have only three of them. But they are shedding ton's of needles every season. it takes my lawn mowing folks 1 1/2hour each season to reck em out. The right way to trim I would suggest asking a nursery. They might be able to help you. Good luck and enjoy your new house.

I prefer a fake one even though a real one has a wonderful smell I rather not deal with having to water it and cleaning up the needles.Plus I set up my christmas village under my tree so the needles would fall all over it.

I trim them by cutting off the candles.
