just wondering if it is possible to get pregnant a day after your period ends because i had unprotected sex with my husband the day after my period ended and i was thinking back to a few years ago when i fell pregnant with my son and i had my period on the 28th feb and concieved around the 8th of march, my periods are usually 7 days long, would the sperm be alive long enough for me to be pregnant now?

Sperm lives for up to 5 days, so if you ovulate between day 9 and day 14 of your cycle then sex on day 9, which is the day after your 7 day cycle ends, could result in a pregnancy.
I ovulate around day 15 or 16, and my period is only 5 days long, so for me the day after my period ends is pretty safe and I've never gotten pregnnat from doing so. However, I wouldn't do this unless my husband and I were ready for another baby because you never know.

It is possible to get pregnant a day after your period ends with unprotected sex, but it is unlikely unless there is a residual buildup of blood left behind in the lining of the uterus for implantation to take place. Sperm live inside the uterus up to 72 hours or 3 days. 7 days is not likely to allow any surviving sperm to fertilize your eggs.
