It's the quest for happiness. We believe if we accomplish what we set out to do (our desires and aspirations), we will have happiness. We chose these desires because we believe they will make us happy. Life is driven by happiness. Weather happiness means having money, having fun, or having a family, we will do just about anything to have it.

Some aspirations are positive and why we go after those is because they will have positive results. Other desires are unhealthy and we go for those because we are selfish and do not think of the consequences or we are just being ignorant, thinking immediate gratification will last.

We go after what we desire because it makes us feel good. This includes things that are bad for us. If it makes us feel good, we do it. Even people who have the desire to do nice things for others. They have this desire because it makes them feel better about themselves.

We have a feeling about which desires are possible to realize.
We weigh risks and possible gains.
Some things we can't resist no matter what, that is uncanny. -They just keep coming back. You would have to go to Sigmund for the why.

We do it because we are human. Our mind is big enough to let us dream and wish. It is my understanding that we lean towards certain goals because of how we were raised or by something else that we were given before we were born.

i believe its our ambition, without ambition we wouldn't make ourselves follow our dreams and desires in life. if we are ambitious people we will get up and do whatever it takes to get it done. however if we're not ambitious, and just takes life as it comes, then we don't push ourselves to do what it takes to fulfull our desires and aspirations.
