The two best airlines in Asia and probably the world are Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific, Cathay has won world's best airline 3 out of the last 5 years and Singapore also has won best airline numerous times. Both are refitting their seats this year and while both airlines had top of the line 1st and business class seats already, the new seats will set new industry standards:http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/content/exp/new/businessclass/index.jsp

Hands down...
SINGAPORE AIRLINES RULES!!!

Every little detail in the entire flight is well-thought of.
The in-flight entertainment system is simply the best. Everybody has their own personal video screen. Movies can be watched with subtitles and can be forwarded or rewinded whenever you like. Unlike that of Cathay Pacific's in-flight entertainment system where there is a schedule you have to follow when watching videos, the ones in Singapore Airlines are stand alone, meaning you have full control when to view what.
The food is a bar above other airliners. I you're a wine drinker, you'll love their selection. If you're travelling economy class, here's a hint for you... whether you're Jewish or not, make sure you request for a KOSHER meal (usually done upon payment for the ticket). Kosher meals served by Singapore Airlines are noticeably larger and tastier (better) than a regular econo-meal.
Most carriers only permit for 20 kilograms of free checked in luggage allowance on economy Europe to Asia flights. If you ask your travel agent, you can get an extra 10 kilograms of checked in weight if you just avail of ther VFR ticket at to extra cost. It stands for Visiting Friends and Relatives and is offered to passengers travelling to the Philippines, regardless of nature of visit.

Believe me, I travelled here to Manila on a Singapore Airlines 747 from London more than 2 weeks ago and will be back next week.

I hope I'll get an upgrade to 1st class if SIA sees this...

Singapore airlines is the best in the world. Manila airport is horrible. Stuck there for 8 hours last year. Business class is definitely worth the money on that long of a trip.

Fat chance on that upgrade PT dahling. From my experience, SIA has a strict policy on upgrades. SIA does not upgrade any passenger, even with the upgrade code beside their booking, unless the class of travel in which the person is travelling is full dahling.

I've flown class J and flight class via SQ and their business class isn't bad. The service is great and I've heard the new 747-400 F class all have been outfitted with new flat beds. The flagship seats of SQ are the ones with 14inch TVs. Damn missed that one dahling.

777-300 is stll the old first class though. They haven't outfitted them yet and they are roomy but not as comfortable as the 747s first class seats.

Travel 747 both ways if possible dahling.

An airline I haven't tried is Qatar. It's been getting great reviews that even food in coach is great. Well it is a five star airline dahling. I would've gone with Qatar on my last trip but I didn't fancy a day's layover in Doha.

Airlines that fly to Manila include: Air France, British Airways, BMI, Flybe, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Gulf Air, Japan Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Thai Airways, VLM.

Incidentally, Emirates is one carrier known for its affordable prices. One comment though, the business class lounge in Dubai is terrible dahling. It's like a bus terminal crammed with people! Food on class J is commendable and they give you food every so often that you'll feel like you've gain 5 pounds on that flight alone dahling.

CX hmmm,so so for business.

you can try singapore airlines, it's the best going to manila and they have now B777-300ER it's a very nice new and big aircraft. Plus you can have your stopover in Changi Airport in Singapore, it's the world's best airport. They have excellent foods and gorgeous cabins. If you'll be flying business class, you can use the nice lounge in Changi airport, you can even take shower in their lounge and staffs are very accomodating.
