How large of crabs? You could get quite a few smaller ones, but less if they're larger.

Considering all they need for their tank (freshwater dish and saltwater dish deep enough for soaking, food dish, hiding spot, climbing area, and extra shells), that doesn't give you a lot of extra room in a 10 gallon. And if you do get smaller crabs, hopefully they will live to grow a good bit larger (they can live for 20+ years and get 3" each, so plan for that when figuring out their "crabitat". I wouldn't plan for more than 3-4 medium sized or 5-6 small ones for a 10 gallon.

Its 6 crabs per 10-gallon-tank.

1 crab per gallon would seriously anger your hermit crabs and force them to fight!
Hope I helped!!

How much space should each of your crabs have in a tank?

Jumbo - 5 gallons each
Large - 4 gallons each
Med. - 3 gallons each
Small - 2 gallons each
Teeny/micro - 1 gallon each
