Well while pregnant you are going to want to be pampered.
Try to find massures that have special pregnancy equipment. (This includes a bed with a hole to stick your stomach through.) Also certain oils and things are not good for you or baby.
Ask for recommendations from your hospital, health practitioner, or friends. If you already have a favorite massage therapist, ask whether she has training in prenatal massage or can recommend a colleague who does. Finally, the American Massage Therapy Association has an online referral system for the United States and Canada. Just click on the map or use the search engine.
The risks of not finding one means that you could be unknowingly putting pressure on your baby or pressure points that deter blood flow for him.
But its a great idea to get a safe massage, help with those nasty back pains.

Baloney to the lower back thing.
My best friend is a massage therapist. I had massages through all my pregnancies. Just no massage machines due to the electrical current.
Some reflexologists (foot massage therapists) will not work the area associated (at the bottom of the foot) with the uterine area so as not to cause the uterus to contract....but that is even a debatable issue amongst therapists.
There is no research to prove that a regular massage has ever hurt a pregnancy.

There are some spas around where I live that provide a maternity massage. They have special tables for that....thank goodness!! I also love massages too...and was pleasantly surprised to know that spas offer this kind of treatment.
Call around to some local spas and inquire....most range from $45-100 dollars depending on the duration (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes).

Find someone who specializes in a pregnant massage. I'm not sure of the risks but I know there are pregnant massages that can be done.

find a prenatal massage center; im sure you can google it in your area. im not sure of all the risks; the only one i know of is if they hit pressure points, and a regular masseuse has you laying on your stomach. prenatal massages have a special table that you can lay on your belly, but there is a cut out for the larger belly and they know where to avoid, since certain pressure points can trigger labor/contractions. im with ya though! i love massages!! congrats on the pregnancy and good luck finding something!

Massages are highly recommend while you're pregnant. Most places offer prenatal massages. As far as the massagers you can buy....I've used them on my legs and my husband has used them on my shoulders. I wouldn't use them on your lower back or near your stomach though. I know you're not suppose to jar your uterus.

There are masages designed for pregnant women. Call around and see who does them. They don't want to massage too deeply on a pressure point and send you into labor.
