...do what you think is the right thing to do...your husband can get over it or not...it's not being disrespectful to your husband to honor your former sister in law. It would be disrespectful of your sister in laws memory, however...at least send condolences and flowers with a simple message

To be honest I would have called anyway and told hubby to get the hell over it. If you were close to his sister then its proper for you to call even though you're married to someone else. You have every right to care and express your condolences :)

You need to sit your hubby down and tell him to GROW THE F*CK UP!! He married you, so why is it an issue. You are not calling to go over and play a game of Spades, you want to offer condolences for the death of someone who is important to you. If you hubby still acts his shoe size, then just know.... What hubby don't know won't hurt him!!

Send a card to her parents. That way you are not contacting your ex in any way. That way you're saying you care and you're keeping your husbands wishes too.
Sorry for your loss. It's never easy, but not being able to be there for the family must be so hard...

You can send her mother flowers and a card, or go to Hallmark and get one the angles of Mother and daughter and mail to her mother (willow tree) thats the name of the angles. When my Dad died and friend sent me Father and daughter and I love it. Call her Mother up and tell her how much you will miss your friend. You can do all those things without running into your ex.

When you go out to the store, use your cell and call. Send a card and flowers....don't let him dictate to you. Everyone need support when there is a death in the family.

Call anyway, sneak away and do it. It's not like you're doing anything wrong and you don't want to regret it forever just for his pigheadedness.
