A gift card to either a store such as Babies R Us or Wal Mart, or any other store with a baby department.

Diapers-make sure they are the brand she intends to use.

A personalized gift, such as a baby bracelet with the baby's name engraved on it.

Something personal-can you crochet a baby blanket, for instance?

A gift card for a local restaurant-preferably one that delivers (for the tired new mom chasing the toddler all day and staying up with the baby all night, who might not be able to get supper fixed).

A gift basket that you put together yourself-perhaps a coloring book and crayons for the big sister, bath bubbles for the new mom, cigar for the new dad, and an outfit for the baby.

Does she have a registry? If she does, chances are unlikely she will return something you get her off of that, since she chose the items!

You could either get a gift card so they could pick out their own things, or you could make a basket with things that always need replenishing, like diapers, wipes, baby wash, books, children's Tylenol, etc. Also realize that if this baby is born in a different season than the first baby, the clothes can't really be shared. They could share socks and onesies, but you can't put a kid in a 0-3 months snowsuit in the middle of the summer. Good luck!

The best things to give are the commonly-used items, like booties or a blanket, or diapers. A gift certificate to a baby store is great too, because then they can pick up anything they need. Usually you don't realize you need something until it's too late to buy it, so the extra money will be appreciated. If you want an actual gift, maybe you could give a gift to the daughter who's already born, so she doesn't feel overlooked.

A basket with 2 movie tickets, gift certificates for dinner and popcorn and a homemade "babysitting" certficate
certficate for massage for 2 or

I would buy her a large case of diapers !! These are always needed. I like Pampers Swaddlers. I would just have them sent to her in the mail..... Order them from 1800diapers on the internet, as they have cheap prices. If you do this, use Referral Code: BRST3227 to save $5.00 on your first order.

Get her a really nice, cute baby sling. They are invaluble and you can always use a couple of them. Things get...a little messy with newborns.
