Or as little stress free as possible. I am not married nor do I have children but some day I hope to have a family. But I have noticed that I seem to have a laid back attitude. I don't let things get to me, and if I do get a little stressed, I know how to let go of that stress. I seem to enjoy the simple things in life. I don't have to have all the latest technology or "keep up with the Jones", which I feel is what helps me because I do not have as many bills. I just take things easy and take the punches as they come. Is it possible to live a stress free live?

I really didn't explain my question to well. I know stress will happen in life, that is a given. I want to get married and have a family. But is it possible depending on the person and their attitude and behavior to avoid as much stress as possible? Stress is going to come no matter what, but is it possible for a person to control the stress to where it is not so bad.

It's not possible to live completely stress free, unless you were in a coma or something. A certain amount of stress is unavoidable, in fact some stress is good, and some people are actually addicted to stress.

You sound like a mellow person who doesn't get stressed too badly, which is good. If you get married and have kids you'll have a bit more stress in your life, but not necessarily more than you can handle.

It seems like you have an easy going character. My husband is that way. I'm not that way, but I work at it . What helps me to let go is certain music, especially my faith in God trough worship, prayer and the bible( has many powerful words in it,like :"fear not"). But also having support through friends is very important. It could seem there is more stress being married, but it is also so much rewarding. How often do we laugh at our little children, they can be so cute..But make sure you marry the right person and there is also less stress being married than just living together, bec you don't have to be afraid the other might leave if there is a problem. In marriage you commit to each other and stick it out, what is very rewarding. I am married since 15 years and I love it. Sure not without stress, but yes you are right, it depends a lot what you do with it.My husband helps with that, too. I'm thankful for that and so you can also help others to be more layed back.

One has to wonder why someone would want to live a stress-free life given certain facts. First, people who are married live longer on the average. Second, people who have children live longer even than people who are married. One explanation is that these lives have both positive and negative stresses. The experiencing of stressors in life builds up tolerance which can result in living longer. It can also give you a reason for living.
Stresses are both positvive and negative. To say one is living a stress-free life is to say that one does not want to experience happiness or sadness.
To say someone wants to live a stress-free life is to say someone does not want to learn anything because we only learn from coming across obstacles and overcoming them.
To live life and enjoy life is not to avoid stress, but to cope it with and manage it and to learn from it. Just a couple of thoughts.

A totally stress-free life is not possible, but having lower stress is possible by keeping things simple and small. I call it "keeping things my size." Other than work, I don't kill myself doing anything I don't want.
