In general, people are not out to hurt us. They hurt us because we expect them to hurt us....Do you think this is so because their barriers look and feel very similar to our own????

I have put up many barriers because this is what I was taught and learned by basic instinct. I do know that no one can hurt me unless I allow them to, that is fact. Our own worse enemies are ourselves.

I think in general that people are not out to hurt people, they just don't care if they do. I don't agree that people hurt us because we expect them to, that just makes no sense. And, some people do try to cause hurt. Overall though, people just don't seem to mind hurting others if they think it will help them get something they want and thus the world is in the shape it is in.

I do not agree. There ARE some people out there that if given the chance will hurt you for unknown reasons to you. I have given this response because I have been hurt for no apparent reason and I did not expect that from this person. People change for various reasons and we really can't know what to expect.

I think the opposite. Most people are kind and not out to hurt or be hurt. God keep me away, I pray from the ones that are solely out to hurt me.

No, for the most people are good and only want to be treated decently or just left alone. There are very few who are out to harm others.

No I don't believe that people in general are out there to hurt us. It is how you portray yourself to them that makes them hurt you.

No, I do not think are out to hurt us. What they are after is what they think is best for themselves. If it hurts others then so be it.

Just out to get me. I don't know what their plans are, but, I'm not taking any chances. Of course, they might just want to be wonderful to me. I'm not ready for that faith yet. Maybe I am. O.K. I'll let them catch me. If you don't hear back from me you'll know they were out to hurt me.

i dont think people are out to hurt me, but that they do it without noticing maybe.
people sometimes do or say things without the intention to hurt anyone, but they end up doing so anyway...

I do sometimes, I have lost a lot of faith in humanity lately. I find most people are out for their selves and they don't care who they step on to reach their goal.
