I recently lost a $250 Creative Zen Vision which I will replace next paycheck if it doesn't show up. However, I'm sure that there are people that have lost similar stuff that was of great value and never got it back.

Name something (not a person) that you have lost that you will never see again. It could be an MP3 player, cell phone, laptop, your mind, your job, whatever. Maybe it slipped out of your hands or maybe someone stole it.

Be descriptive as possible.

I meant to say "replace with the next paycheck."

My Mom left me a ring that had opals in a circle with a turquoise stone in the middle which made the ring look like a flower. I do think the ring was worth some money because it was gold and the stones were real, but I loved the ring and as I said, it had belonged to my Mom. I believe my daughter pawned it when she was in collage. She has never admitted it but she did put a lot on my credit card without permission, took a leather jacket I had that I never saw again and stole money from everyone in the family. She is 38 ys now but it has never come up. The ring is gone so what is the use?

Oh man that really stinks that that happened to you.
Fortunately nothing like that has occured to me and I hope that it won't.
I guess losing something isn't as bad as having it stolen. But both are pretty bad.
Good thing the only things that can be stolen or lost are materialistic.
