My brother just made a 33 on his ACT and likes the good weather in Florida, but all the schools seem sub par academically (UF, FSU, UCF).

Are there any liberal arts colleges in Florida?

UF is a great school, ranked #13 among US News. If you want a really great liberal arts college you should look at New College. I think they had 10 fullbright scholars this year. It's a public school, cheap, and unorthodox-mostly hippies but it has a great reputation.

University of South Florida in Tampa Bay has a liberal arts program. I went there for English which I think is a part of that program.

There are lots of states with nicer weather and better schools.

UF is the only school in Florida that I would even consider. They are giving it lots of money & are trying to get it into the top ten in public universities. But that still leaves several schools in California, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina that are better and have decent weather.
