do you have to have an agent in california to get a job there...i live in illinois so im thinking i'll get an agent here....will they only be able to get me a job here?

An agent can book you auditions anywhere, regardless of where they, the audition, or you are.

You do not need an agent to get a job (though it's reccommended), and you do not specifically need a Hollywood agent, to get Hollywood jobs (though it's reccommended).

I'd say, get an agent in Illinois, and after having steady work there, switch agencies, and try and get an agent in California.

They will get you jobs all over the place. And I bet alot of the places will be in California.

Any agent anywhere can get you jobs anywhere if he/she is
a good agent.
