I live in a mobile home and the carport is narrow. Only enough room for the car and someone to get in on one side.

Right after a very low speed accident, I parked my car in my carport. It was still running then, but won't start now, it won't go into Neutral so I can push it either. (Maybe the battery is dead, but there isn't enough room to get another car in to jump it.)

I called tow companies and because of the narrow streets, and the narrow carport, they can't help me.

How on earth do I get the car out of my carport?

Any ideas are welcome

i would go to someplace like wal-mart,k mart, farm&fleet, buy me a $15 one and a half ton floor jack,if the car is front wheel drive, slide the jack under the car, jack the car up(you will have to look under the car,to make sure you have located a safe place under there) have someone push the car, while you steer the jack.once you have the car out of the carport you can take you jack and swing the car around.if your car is rear-wheeled drive, the simply jack your car up from the back-end and pull it out from under the carport.after getting it out then get a friend to give you a jump.so,for $15,your problem is solved.after having your floor jack for awhile,i'm sure you will find other uses for it.ie. like changing a flat tire.good luck and thank you!

A couple of things can be done. First of all, they make a jump box that can be carried by hand to jump start the car. You do not need another car, it is a self contained unit. Most tow companies should have these.

Depending on the vehicle, there may be a bypass on the shifter to allow it to be put in neutral to be pushed out!

You could try charging the battery, or having it replaced. It sounds like a dead battery problem to me!

You need to find a better tow company. With the right equipment, a qualified tow company should be able to get your car out!!

OK. Can u open the bonnet (hood)? If so, Take the battery out, get a battery charger and put it on charge.(Make a note of where the cables go.) It may take a day and a night.. When it is fully charged, put it back in and see if it starts. If it doesn't charge up, u may be looking a a new battery.Don't know why it won't go into neutral, but if it is stuck in gear, and u have a fully charged battery, u can wind it forward on the starter motor. Just turn the key, & the car will move forward in gear.. Have one foot hovering over the brake pedal, cos if it starts, it will go forward very quickly. Hope this helps.

What is going on is that your car has an electric solenoid for the park / shift interlock - and it won't work without electricity.

There is usually a procedure in the owner's manual (or call the dealer) on how to disable it for one use. The bypass works once, then you have to go through the procedure if you need to do it again, so once you get it into neutral, leave it there until you have the car out.

Do you have enough space to get to the battery - it might be under the back seat. Take it out - get it charged, put it back, and start the car.

That depends, if your car is an automatic there should be a small gap above your gear selector, which is big enough to fit your key inside. Put the key in, hold down the brake and move the selector into neutral. If your battery is dead there is no point in just trying to jump start your car as the battery will not hold its charge and will die when you turn the car iff again. You might just have to buy another one.
Hope this helps.

Well, first, every body is NOT the equal. You are surely extra articulate, shrewd, and informed than such a lot. But you're proper to anticipate that for all that, you're nonetheless not anything specific. Neither me. But the well information is, specific is a crock. It's an empty promise. It turns out desirable, however it is a mirage. You get there and uncover it empty. What concerns is love and happiness. Which, quite simply, are comfortably to be had. I imply feel approximately specific. When's the final time you stopped and mentioned, you understand, that man who ate probably the most rough boiled eggs in that Bulgarian egg-consuming contest I noticed on TV was once fairly whatever. I'm going to e mail him proper now. Ptooey on specific.
