Sometimes I wonder when they throw the phrase at us as if we are trying to undermine the importance of other issues the world is facing. Does simply asking for equal rights constitute an agenda? Or do we have a 'list of items' on an 'agenda' they believe we are forcing upon them?

We all know there is no "gay agenda" other than equal rights, a level paying field for jobs, education and housing, and to be able to walk and interact with society without fear or harassment or being beaten or killed.
I think that the whole "gay agenda" notion was cooked up by some backwoods preacher somewhere in the "bible belt" to alarm churchgoing folk and frighten them into attacking GLBT's, harassing them, and sending more money to these instigators and the televangelists to keep the cycle of hate going.
I'm sure they have a whole list of "gay lobby demands" that they've made up and swear by all they consider holy is what was handed them by the "gay lobby" all involving minors, four or more footed critters, "grooming" young boys in school and forcing "god fearing, bible believing christians into a corner" as the first step toward systematic persecution of "the church" I've worked for a time for a faith based organization, and heard all of their wild allegations on television, listened to it for years.
I think geramd4040, gjkishere, divadarya and Moxie said it all best, it's all of the things they've said.
If they are denied the "right" to victimize someone, I mean expose sin and preach the gospel and restore "family values" they immediately become alarmed and cry persecution.
There are some good folk among them though, who want to do the right thing, it's just that the televangelists and backwoods snake oil salesmen got to them first.

I think everyone has an agenda don't they? The things they hope to achieve.
Of course the 'gay agenda' consists of equal rights, as far as I can tell that would be #1 and I doubt there is anything much else you could get the entire community to agree on.
For some reason the people who are trying to stop our agenda are trying to say it is a bad thing to have an agenda, and they seem to think we have more items than the one we do put foward, such as converting people and trying to bring down civilisation as we know it.
GAY AGENDA:
1) Gain Equal Rights
2) Make rainbow sprinkled cupcakes
Copy, Paste and put a printed copy on your fridge today, make sure all your queer friends get the memo.

The only agenda I have is wanting equal rights and to be treated like a human being. I never knew wanting tolerance was an agenda. I think the whole gay agenda thing was made up by homophobes to scare people into thinking we want special rights, or we're gonna somehow corrupt society's "family values"...bunch of BS. Give me my civil rights, and treat me equally and I'll stop complaining.

Sorry, discussing the validity of the homosexual agenda is not on the agenda. You should have submitted it as a proposed item 72 hours in advance.
Now, moving on to the next item: deciding on a font for the monthly newsletter...

I find it very annoying when they accuse us of shoving some "agenda" down their throats, when they shove their hatred down ours. they pass laws and try to pass more laws to keep us from having rights. they discriminate against us in jobs and housing. they verbally and physically abuse us...sometimes even kill us. and they tell US we're going to hell? sounds like they are the ones with an agenda.
I simply want to live in peace and safely, marry the person that I love in which I'm in a committed, monogamous relationship and pay my bills like anyone else. unfortunately, the haters force us to fight for the same rights they already have. as a citizen, full-time worker and tax-payer, I should be entitled to those same rights. how is that an "agenda?"

Remember if right-wing nuts are trying to put creationism and Bible study into schools and force schools to only teach abstinence, they are working to "restore traditional American values"; but if a student wants to start a GSA, they are trying to "force the 'gay agenda' down the throats of God-fearing Americans!!!!!"
As you can tell, I'm being sarcastic.

Our agenda:
1) don't get beaten up and/or killed
2)Have the same rights to marry/partner who we choose and give them the rights of a spouse
3)Be accepted into the human family
That said, I hear if we win, Gay headquarters sends us a toaster.

I'm waiting on my copy of the gay agenda, which apparently I didn't get. Tegarst did tell me he would mail me one.
Apparently we are to recruit door to door, Jehovah Witness style.

they consider the potential end of their ability to force heteronormativity on others as equivalent to having queerness forced on them, that's just how the conservative mind works, they feel victimized when they are denied to the opportunity to victimize others
