Great Expectations, A Matter Of Life And Death, It's A Wonderful Life, Papillon, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Once Upon A Time In America, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Pan's Labyrith.

Everyone of the above gripped my imagination and most of them i watched unexpectedly.
When i sit down to watch something especially, then i'm usually let down due to the hype so i suggest pick a shortlist from the recommendations then get someone to pick out a random one, sit back and enjoy

Make it a three-fer from the Coen Brothers tonight. Raising Arizona followed by The Big Lebowski, and Intolerable Cruelty to cap it all off.

If your up for a great laugh try team america world police, but if thats not your type of film then try watching the departed. If your into weird films with a twist try A scanner darkly.

well if you like a suspenseful thriller go with The Usual Suspects or Seven (seven is pretty Grisly though)

Some of my favorite films are Usual Suspects, Seven, Clockwork Orange, One Flew over The Cuckoo's Nest, Fight Club, Goodfellas, Anything from Hitchcock, Reservoir Dogs, and Pulp Fiction. THe only ones that don't have much violence are One flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and usual suspects.
