where would i find the additional fan connectors (ports) on the motherboard? Does it have a name? a distinct look?

Typically they are three or four pin connectors just like the CPU fan. It will be labeled something like CHSFAN or SYS-FAN. If you want too add additional fans, you could just go with standard four pin connectors directly off the power supply. The same type as your HD and DVD/CD ROM drives!

If there are no more spare connectors on the motherboard, you could opt to connect the extra fans directly to the 4 pin molex of the power supply. You might need an adaptor to do that.

Best is to look in your motherboard manual. It may even be coming off your power supply. You can your motherboard manual from the makers web site.
