Why is saying blackboard politically incorrect but whiteboard is ok?

I do apologise to anyone if i have offended them by asking this. It is in no way a racist comment, I was only asking because i heard this years ago and then my daughter came home from school the other day and mentioned whiteboard

You white people are incredible. In my 12 years of primary school and 6 years of secondary school, i've never heard anyone say the word Blackboard was offensive. And like the woman said, a whiteboard is usually called a dry-wipe or dry-erase board anyway. This is just you white racists race-baiting again.

If you heard your daughter say whiteboard, why would you then assume that it was not okay to say blackboard? That's one of the dumbest things i've ever heard!

A blackboard and a whiteboard are no longer 2 examples of the comparable ingredient. mutually as they're the two used to jot down on in school rooms, they does no longer be defined as 2 diverse forms of blackboards. A blackboard is black (or green), and is written on with chalk. A whiteboard is white, and is written on with dry-erase markers. they have very diverse textures. so which you does no longer say something like "write it on the white blackboard."

I remember being told a few years ago as I prepared to present a lecture in an inner city area that I was not under any circumstances to use the term Blackboard to prevent insulting members of the audience who were from "minority groups" It was to be referred to as a "chalk board" or preferably not referred to at all. The whiteboard was to be referred to as a wipe board to prevent inference of a racist remark.

Needless to say it was the first and last lecture I presented to that particular organisation.

I'm told it is a chalk board by a teacher who by the look on her face thought the whole discussion was a waste of time and effort I for one can not see why the word Blackboard is so offencive, even if most of the time it is grey 'cos of the chalk being wiped off. Again the adherence to PC is making fools of all of us. Those who use it most seem to be those in the Civil Service and Local Councils They seem to have nothing else better to do than waste public money on such matters

Blackboard.

Whiteboard.

There, I said it. Did anyone get offended*? I don't think so.

(* apart from those green blackboards that rolled round and round and could be wheeled around the school - do you remember them??)

Who knows?

Blackboard is black and a white board is white, people are taking things too far in thinking people will be offended.

I've never heard of that. Are you for real, or just race baiting again? Everything on this forum is primarily directed at trying to demean Black people. This is just getting to be way out of hand. You guys need to stop it.

I hope you all wind up in hell at Armageddon.
