Basically i was playing baseball with my girlfriend today and as she was about to swing the remote turned itself off and she had to turn it back on - it kept happening after that. Why did this happen?

If you press the little button that looks like a house-- It'll tell you the remaining power in the battery.

The likely culprit is the battery.

Mine does this too. Here is what I have tried

1) Re-syncing the Wii-mote and the Wii
2) Replacing the batteries
3) When all else fails call Nintendo for help, they are great

yeah battery is your best bet.

but mine however did this for a while also, even with new batteries... and then as i was playing Wii Sports bowling, it just just cut out and wouldnt ever turn back on again, and so i phoned Ninty since it was still under a years guarantee, got it replaced.

You probably need to change the batteries! That could be the simplest of problems. Hope I helped!
