I'm 26 years old. My husband and I are talking about having a baby. I've never been pregnant before and when I do get pregnant, I want to be as healthy as possible. I know I need to have a healthy diet, exercise, be at a healthy weight, etc. Should I be doing anything else to get ready to start trying? Thanks!

Pre natal vitamins, healthy diet, good attitude and most importantly RELAX!! and ENJOY!! the whole baby making process! if you are having sex just to get pregnant it is going to stress you out and you have to relax and understand it could take some time, otherwise everytime your peiod is a day late, you'll be all excited and think you are pregnant and then when you do get your period, you will be crushed. So, plan on it taking a few months, just to be safe! And figure out when you are ovulating as that is the best time. You should know your body farily well and have a pretty good idea. However, I did use an ovulation test kit, super easy to do, and got pregnant right away, in fact we only had sex once!! So, I would go for that! good luck!

I'm 26 also and am 4months pregnant with my first child. We got pregnant a little earlier than expected but I WOULD HAVE actually gone to my doctor told him/her our desire to become pregnant for a complete check-up. I did start taking a daily multi-vitamin that was high in folic acid. Don't forget to quit/avoid smoking/smokers and alcohol.

It sounds like you're on the right track.

Bets of luck!!!

Start taking a prenatal vitamin 3 months before trying to get pregnant and also get an appt with your OB/Gyn for a Pre-conception visit about 3 months before you start trying.

It sounds like you know exactly what you should be doing. Don't put too much emphasis on trying to conceive and you should be fine. A lot of people do this and this interferes with their efforts. Good luck!

Avoid the "bar life" at all cost, stay away from alcohol and smokers. Other than that its all about luck, it could happen the first time or it can take years...*Good Luck and SMiles!*
