I had sex exactly 10 days ago and it was the day after my period ended. We used protection, but it broke right at the end and some of it got in me, but alot of it went on the ground. What are the chances that i am pregnant, and how early can i test? My period is so far away still and i'm worrying myself sick about this...

For the life of me I will never understand why you stupid kids have sex then worry about being pregnant ???? Does it ever occur to you that having sex does end in pregnancy BECAUSE thats what sex is for. Damn go get a job don't have sex, make yourself useful, do something with your life dont spend it on your back

It doesn't matter if your period just ended. A woman releases an egg (ovulates) anywhere from day 5 to day 21. "Ovulation, followed by menstruation two weeks later, can occur as early
as day 5 or 6" - (See reource below).

So you could have been ovulating then. It's not a high chance, but still a chance. It is a HUGE fallacy that all women ovulate on day 14. They don't. Trust me. If you don't trust me, do some net searches on medical sites. It is entirely possible to get pregnant on the day after your period, and while not as likely as the other days, still much more possible than "slim".
Many women who want to get pg and "can't" often find that they are having sex on days they don't ovulate because they are fixated on the number 14.

Secondly, sperm can live in your body for 5 days or more. You need to wait at least 7 days after conception to use First Response or any other pg test that claims to be accurate early. That would mean that the absolute earliest you should use a test would be 2 days from now.

However, since the tests are not entirely reliable, you're better off either a) having a test done at a clinic...the tests there are more accurate ... or b) waiting it out and see if your next period starts. If it doesn't, get a test as it has a high chance of reliability at that point.

Look into conception a little more and you'll find that it isn't an exact science. You are playing it risky if all you're using is a condom and relying on evidence of menstruation.

I've been in this situation before...very nervewracking!! Fortunately you *should* be fine, since it was right after your period ended. However, that is not always the case. Some women ovulate during their periods. As for how early you can test, I'm not sure. I know there are pregnancy tests out there that advertise being able to test before even getting a period...I think EPT might be one of those tests. I'm not for certain on that though. You might consider calling your doctor to ask or go to the drugstore and talk to a pharmacist. In the meantime, find someone you trust and talk to them about this situation. It definitely helps the anxiety...my best friend and I have both been through this situation at different times and talking helps. Good luck!

If it was the day after your period, chance are VERY slim. You usually ovulate around 14 days, so don't have sex now! If you have sex now, chances are HIGH you will get pregnant. You can test a few days before you expect your period, but alot of the time HPTs arent that accurate until you miss your period, so instead of worrying about pregnancy, why don't ya worry about an STD. That's more likely than you being pregnant.

First off honey, most likely you are not pregnant. Chances that you were fertile the day your period ended are low (unless you bleed for a long time) You can start testing with a home pregnancy test about 5 days before your period is supposed to start but it only detects a small percentage of pregnancies that soon... best to wait until you've missed your period to test for accurate results.
Please educate yourself on sex and your cycle. (or you will eventually end up prego!) go to www.mymonthlycycles.com to start! good luck to you!

It's true that you can test 5 days before but it's better to just wait. I know that's hard to do, I've had to do it myself, but the easiest thing to ease your mind a little bit is to talk to someone you completely trust. Don't talk to to girl with the biggest mouth in the whole school, talk to the guy you were with, a sibling you know will keep their mouth shut, or if you feel it necessary talk to your mom. It's going to be hard to wait so occupy yourself with something. Before you know it the time will have passed and you will either get your period or you can test. If you do get your period may i suggest that you still test just to make sure. There's a chance that even with your period you can still be pregnant. I'm hoping for the best for you! Take deep breathes and try not to eat a lot to compensate for your worries, eating a bunch of junk will only make you feel worse. I know it's hard to do but take a hot bath and relax a little bit.

I doubt very seriously that you are pregnant. An egg wouldn't of been released yet. You can do some home tests before you"re even supposed to get your period now. My niece used one a week before she was to have her period and it told her she was pregnant so they must work. Go to the store and check it out. Good luck. Also maybe ask the doctor for a prescription for the day after pill in case this ever happens again so you don't have to worry yourself crazy again.

Well, ususally women ovulate 2 weeks after the first day of their period. But of course not every woman is the same.
The best you can do is try not to stress knowing that it's pretty unlikely that you got pregnant. If you stress you will make your period late, and of course that would freak you out even more! You can usually get accurate results the day of your missed period.

The First Response test will let you test 5 days before your period but its not 100% accurate. Playing the waiting game is tough, but it's what you'll have to do. Call your doctor.

I suggest you get tested, ask some one who is 18 + to get the test from a pharmacy for you, cuz I'm not sure if they give it to minors.
