I personally define as this:

Ultimate goal: Support ALL troops by bringing them home alive and not in body bags, and

Objective: Allow all soverign nations to solve their own unique situations with THEIR population and not ours. If war and death are inevitable in foreign countries, should not the population of that country be willing to bear the sacrifice, before asking me to give them my child?

Over 1/2 of the population of Iraq are now living in other countries and ALL wealthy Iraqis are living abroad. What does that tell you about the pride they take in THEIR OWN country?

I think it has been defined, we are just not privy to it due to national security. I think that time lines have been set with what the Iraqi's need to accomplish and how we can get our troops eventually down to just a support function. I've been hearing that permanent bases are being built, so I suspect we will be there for quite a while. The ultimate goal is for the new Iraqi government to stand on their own. But just as in South Korea, we maintain a presence to keep harmony.

I think it would be nice to see it defined in a simple english sentence, but I doubt that'll happen.

I think the objective is (relative) stability, and the ultimate goal is the creation of a pro-American regime (prefferably a democracy), that will allow us a continuous military presence in the region (to replace the bases quietly lost in Saudi Arabia).

That's easy. We will suck every drop of oil they got, and then hell, we come back home!! I mean they gotta decide on their own some day!!!

Best Regards.

Edit: You are right Kim i forgot they have a democratically elected government now?! And Iraqis are so happy, they have a big party and fire works every night.!?

Bringthe troops home.

The American people have already defined the objective--and that's it.

End of discussion.

Our objective is simple:
Bomb baghdad until it is a crater.
Neutralize all enemy combatants.
Get our troops home BEFORE january of 2146

now how do we do that, you ask?
NUKE EM!

No i am not crazy or dumb. This is the most logical response to the slaughter of our troops. I know you are against it but soon you will all realize i am right.

The same as we do our own country, we will help the Iraqi people achieve the same goals as well!

As the famous words of JFK paraphrasing "We will meet any hardship.......Oppose any foe, for the cause of Liberty"

Pulling out with as little further damage as possible. Renewing our diplomatic ties with syria and iran, and have special forces remain to take out specialized and known terrorist cells. It is their country that is in civil war, not ours, let them figure out how they will make it work, we have done enough to trouble them already. We should offer a UN force to help try and keep stability led by Iran and Syria, if they would comply.
