I can't figure how to add the drawing to this so I will just give the dimensions and hope someone can help.
Point A is farthest from the circle. A straight line going to the circle is Point D. From Point A to D is 18. Point C goes diagonally up towards the circle. Point A to C is 24. Inside the circle is Point B with dotted line (r) going to D and a dotted line(r) going to C. Inside the circle by Point C is the square box denoting a right angle. If anyone can understand what I've described I would appreciate your input.

Since you ay the dotted lies are (r) , I think this means they are radii of the circle and P is the center.

Drwaw an x-y coordinate system. Then P is at (0,0) D is at (0,r) and C is at (r,0). From the external Point A draw AD = 18 and AC = 24. That's your picture.

But what is the question?

The length of CD is rsqrt(2)
The length of arc CD is pir/2
You can compute the area of triangle ACD using in terms of r Hero"s formula. You can compute the area (in terms of r) of ACPD byadding areas of tiangle ADC and triangle DPC.

Well I tried to draw it out and help but you need to describe the location of both ends of EACH line in relation to the center or outline of the circle. Then also give the rest of the measurements.

It sounds like you need to figure out the third side of a triangle. Look in your book for the equation. You should be able to figure it out and you will learn better doing it yourself. Visualize it!
