When you leave your computer on, you expose yourself to the cruelty of the elements. Thunderstorms have been known to send electricity surges that could hurt your power supply. It's a lot of On/Off, but technically it would be to your advantage to cut your computer off when you are done.
Peace.

A computer as in any device consumes energy. There are varied opinions on which is best . Your computer generates a lot of heat thats why more than one cooling fan is neccesary. Heat in turn cause things to eventually break . The rule of thumb is if your going to be away for a short time power it down into standby mode anything longer a shutdown . .

No. You'll save energy if you turn it off. To save more energy you can unplug all those AC adaptors.

Nope.
If you put a screensaver or turn off the screen it's better but still uses more energy than if it's off.

No, it's much better, safer and more energy-efficient to switch off your PC, monitor, printer etc. when they are not in use.
