the answer is actually relative...

it depends on the culture, belief system, maturity level, education and all that. Other countries have other priorities and way of life...

there are countries whose people get married at 13 and they are able to support a family since they come from an extended family everyone actually supports each other.
the grandparents and everyone else helps in babysitting, the fathers help in hunting/ farming and putting food on the table, the women helps in weaving for clothes and cooking food.

i hope I answered your question.

it depends on a lot of stuff...

I got married when I was 25, the world wasn't as complicated as now and I was able to balance my persona & family life with my career.

nowadays, it's more difficult to do that esp if you live in a big city like NYC or California since mortgage and everything else is too expensive esp for those who are just starting and it's taking a toll on the family.

spouses end up having 2 jobs and not seeing each other... taking away family time.

so it's much too complicated.

In my opinion it is not so much about age than where you are in your life. You know, emotionally and finacially and if the person you are starting a family with is in the same place and comitted to the same future goals as you. You should definetly be married. Just being married puts gives you a different frame of mind when making a decision as big as that and you have someone else to support that decision.

I'm in my 30's and I still feel too young to start a family. LOL

I guess it just depends on the person involved and not the people around them who should decide.

but there's no way I would let a teenager start a fmily coz for the most part it's just the hormones talking.

for real...

I disagree with byderrule.

I am 21 married, my husband is 22. We are talking about having children now. To flat out give an age is wrong. You need to be financially stable and be able to provide love and care to the child. I also think that you should be with someone who you know is going to be there. Not necissarly married but in a long term commited relationship.

Under 20. I think 25 is a pretty good age to start a family...
