i was exercising and (i was wearing a pad). all of a sudden a sharp pain came about "down there". it hurt so bad. i was limping to the bathroom. i took a 10 minute break and now it doesn't hurt that much. did i break my hymen? pull a muscle? and i know it bleeds when that happens but i already have my period, so i wasnt able to tell. because i've experienced pain before down there but never like that :( any help from personal experience would be wonderful...

thank you.

You did pull a muscle, and you did what is called "spotting" out of cycle. You are young and it will happen. That is when bright red blood "spots" on the pad, while out of cycle.

That is normal. If you are concerned please talk to your Ob/GYN doctor. They are YOUR best friends when if comes to "down there" and their nurses will answer any questions you have....even if YOU think they are silly, they are not to us.

Hymens breaking generally, don't hurt, they are only a membrane as thin as plastic wrap. They often tear on their own "long before you have sexual intercourse", from bike riding, horseback riding or high soccer ball kicks.

A broken hymen is not a crime! Most times no one will ever know, including you. Virginity is a totally different issue, that is sexual intercourse with another person. Being a virgin is being "untouched" by sexual intercourse and penetrating you female parts.

I hope that helped you out.

You know the one "who" got all the questions like this one?

It caused a limp? Either you had a very abnormal hymen or you pulled a muscle.

My votes is the latter.

You probably just pulled a muscle. Unless it was VERY strenuous exercise it wouldn't break your hymen. (Does it really matter anyway? You'd still be a virgin until you have sex)
