Why do women often wear high heels even if they are not comfortable? I think that women like to be taller than the men because it confers them superiority and put the shorter man in embarassement. Is this true? Are there women who like to stand over the males?

Height does give you power, it's true, but I don't think that's why many women wear high heels. If that were the case, women who've made their career on being weak little girls would've worn flats, and Marilyn Monroe never did. Heels are considered the appropriate footwear for women, particularly in dressy occasions. Not wearing heels is almost like not wearing a tie for men.
Plus heels make a woman's body look better, or at least what we think of as better. Taller is better for everyone, of course. They also force the person wearing them to stick their butt and chest out, and they lengthen the person's legs.
This has nothing to do with embarrassing short men. In fact, when a woman is dating a guy her height or shorter, or she is being escorted by him in some way (like in a wedding), she'll often wear flats or low heels. I know in the weddings I've been in, there's always concern about putting me (a tall woman) with the tallest guy.

I don't often wear high heels, but I wear them when I dress up (which is not very often). I like them because they look good with nice clothes and make your legs look shapely. I wouldn't recommend wearing them all day, especially if you have to walk, but dancing with heels is actually easier than without (depends how you dance).
I've never ever heard of a woman wearing heels so that she could look down on men - but you never know, there might be exceptions. In any case, since I'm 5'4", even with very high heels, I'm still smaller than most men.

As a 6'3" guy, I love it when my 5'7" wife of almost 15 years wears high heels. She is already my intellectual equal, and I like to have her match me physically a little better. Most of her shoes that she wears out in public add a couple or more inches. Maybe its just because I'm quite a bit taller than her. It also enhances her elegance. She is pretty selective to make sure they are comfortable, but by the end of almost any evening, they have come off early.

At 5' 6"....I'm usually still shorter than most men in my heels.
I wear heels because they are sexy, make me feel even more feminine and beautiful. I love the way they elongate the legs, shape the calves and butt, add a lil sway to my walk, and enhance my over all look.
I certainly don't wear them to make men feel inferior. However I will say that men tend to yield, and melt , and give up a bit of their power as I become a lil taller. But its their doing not mine. I'm just wearing heels cause I love the way I look and move in them. I am very comfortable walking in them. Ive never had any complaints about my wearing them either.

Its not about being taller than a man. If anything we want to stay away from that. I personally think that I look better in heels. They make me look skinnier, I think. I'm only 5'5" so it feels nice to be a little taller. I'm a little offended that you would think that a woman is living her whole life trying to be superior to you. Don't flatter yourself too much we have got a lot of other things to worry about.

Thats why women are always on high heels over men, and men are also love their heels, women wants to to be on the top of men always, mens bear their weight and after effects life long, it is true their dedication towards women

Well I can only speak 4 myself. I do not wear heels so that I can be taller than my man. I wear heels b/c they make me feel sexy when I am dressed up. I like to dress up, don't get me wrong I sometimes dress down with tennis shoes and still feel sexy.But it is just something about being in heels.

I wear heels sometimes because I am 5ft. tall. Even in the highest of heels, I'm still a lot shorter than most men.

I don't wear high heels. They aren't good for your feet at all.
I'm also 4' 10." Most people on this planet are taller than I am, and I don't honestly care what people think about it. Height doesn't give you superiority (well, maybe where you're from there might be cultural implications.)

They believe the higher the more elegant.I don't know anything about towering over the men.
Some woman look even silly they put their butt back a lot when they walk on those things.
And listen to a lot of women who have a sore back,they do not know that high heels are a killer for this problem.
They pay a price for it.
