When John Robert Powers was alive, JRP was 'THE TOP MODELING AGENCY in New York City, before FORD Models are any of the current top agencies. His models were on the covers of every fashion magazine. Apparently, his family must have franchised his name and sold the business to scam artists . . . with a family like that . . . .
Real modeling agencies send their models to PROFESSONAL photographers to have their photographs made. The model doesn't pay for the photographs until she makes money as a model.
Real modeling agencies (Ford Models, Click Models, Trump Models) all of the TOP NYC modeling agencies, pay for everything, until the model makes money.
NY modeling agencies get REAL modeling assignments for their models. In high fashion boutiques, magazines, stores, etc.
Real modeling agencies do NOT ask the model for money, JRP asks for $2,000.
They will not teach you how to be a professional model. They will not teach you anything that will be useful in the "real modeling" world. JRP doesn't do anything except take money. They are NOT a legitimate modeling agency.
If you want to model, go to a major department store, where you live, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and Neiman-Marcus, and ask if you can speak to someone that can give you the name of a legitimate modeling agency in your city.
Save your money and find a legitimate modeling agency, if there is one, in your city. As I said, if there is a Neiman-Marcus or Saks in your city ask them to advise you.
