If the boundry you want to cut down belongs to you, then you can do as you please with it.Usually, the boundry belonging to you on the right as you look at your property from the front.Check with the land registry if you have no deeds. However,I never reccomend that you have problems with neighbours as it can be a problem when you go to sell if you have had a dispute. These can get very nasty and should be avoided at all cost.If it is your neighbours boundry, then you cannot touch it without their permission and agreement so you have a problem. They may be more amenable(if it is theirs) if you were to suggest paying them for any alteration to it and obviously to cause no mess or ugly looking alterations which would spoil their enjoyment of their garden.

If it is your neighbours fence then you have no rights regarding its removal although you can trim off the hedge if it is growing over the boundary into your garden If the hedge is yours you can cut it down and erect a fence instead. If you think the neighbour may still object, wait till he/she goes on hols and do it when they are away. Be sure that you are aware who owns the hedge first though as they may be able to take legal action if the hedge was theirs.

Check your boundary lines out. If it is a jointly owned hedge you should be able to cut the hedge right back and erect a fence on your side. Pity you cant get the neighbours to come to some sort of compromise though, promise to let them pick the type of fencing to be erected? Check with Planning Dept., regarding their objections, if is is very close to boundary line they may think that you will be overlooking their property.

Hello, I would first check your property line. If the shrubs are on your property, its your property. Next see if you need permits to build you conservatory, your neighbors will be able to contest anything that you build or at least tie you up in court. The real question is do you need the headache, is this a new project that you just started or have you been planning for a few years?

If the main base or main trunks of the hedge are on your property then you have every right to do what you want to it even if the branches reach into their yard. As long as everything is to code, then your neighbor should not have any say regarding your conservatory.

In the usa..any property owner can cut limbs hanging over on thier side of the yard..no matter who the tree belongs too...You get the permit to build your fence, and MAKE SURE..you have it re surveyed and visible stakes to guide the fence builders by..you can legally cut any limbs hanging on your side...You can not climb in the tree to cut them if the tree is hers/his but you can take out what obstructs your property. Here is A link with the basics concerning this

i have a similar problem, the guy that lives behind my house lets his dog out every morning, and every morning, the dog barks so loud, it wakes me up some time in between 6-7 a.m. and also, at random times, he lets the dog out and it barks, and it pisses me off. i just ignore it. after a few years (if your neighbor is like mine), it will stop.i had to deal with it for 4 years. for you, it has been going on for 2 years, right? if i were you, i would just ignore it for the next 2 years, then there is a 48% chance that the dog will stop.
