Don't believe anyone who says no one knows who R.A.B is. They are n00bs because they don't double check their facts before posting. The name was revealed when the Portuguese translator needed to know the gender. It is in fact Regulus Black.

At this point, most fans believe that it is Regulus Black, Sirius' brother. In an interview with J.K. Rowling, immediately after Half-Blood Prince was released, Melissa Anelli talked with Rowling a little about this. Melissa has said that while Rowling did not confirm that Regulus is R.A.B., in their conversation it was as though they both assumed that he was.
Just to throw out another idea, I have heard a theory that Amelia Bones is R.A.B., Amelia being her middle name.

Everyone thinks its Sirius's brother, Regulus. This can be backed up by the fact that in the Dutch version, the intials are R.A.Z. and Black in Dutch is Zatz (or something similiar) Also, Regulus wanted out of the Death Eaters and did something to make Voldemort want to kill him. So the facts add up.

Nobody really know who R.A.B. is. I, myself, wold put my money on Regulus Black. That, however, can't be proved, a s we do not know Regulus' middle name. You will just have to wait for the book, like the rest of us.

It's never actually mentioned who R.A.B. is, though the common belief is that it's Sirius' brother Regalus.

well R.A.B could be linked to Harrys Aunt.
they say she reveals something in the 7th book,
but rather than that im not so sure. 13 more days till we find out!

Nobody knows yet, it was one of the mysteries from the last book. I think it is probably Regulus (Arcturus) Black, Sirius' brother.
