i utterly believe so
but i also believe that not all the reasons are meant for human intellect. and some may not be good enough for us to accept them. and always remember that even our own heart knows its own reasons that the mind can never understand.
so yes, everything happens for a reason. You may just not comprehend it right away because it needs time. And in some cases, it's just not meant for you to know it, so just let it be or let it go.

Events seem to happen for a reason when viewed through hindsight. When looking back at your life, from a neutral viewpoint, there are highs and lows. You can see that the highs would not have happened if the previous lows had not. Also the reason for some things may have little to do with you! You do have an influence on other people, for better or worse, and they could be the reason.

I believe everything happens for a reason. But that does not mean everything happens because of fate. The reason my fingers are moving right now is because of little neurons firing in my brain. This does not mean that my fingers were "meant" to type what I'm typing right now... my birth was not necessarily part of some master plan for the world, it was a result of biology.
Why do humans exist? Because a looooooooooong loooooong time ago small mutations occurred in our primate-ancestors that were more successful than others, for example, having opposable thumbs made us more able to survive, so now we have opposable thumbs. That doesn't mean we were destined to have opposable thumbs, the mutation creating opposable thumbs could have never occurred and we would have never developed opposable thumbs. But there is still a reason behind everything.
There is a reason behind everything, even if it's completely random.
Here's another example: I used to think randomness was possible, and would jump off a couch or shout "tomato" to prove it.... but I was doing exactly that, trying to prove it... and so there was a reason why I jumped off a couch or shouted "tomato."

Everything happens for a reason, yes. But not because it is predestined. The reason things happen as they do is because I have done something to trigger it, mostly without being aware of what it was that I did. Every action causes a chain of events that eventuall have an impact on my life. This is so because everthing is inter-related.

No, our lives are not predestined (preplanned)
Yes, everything happens for a reason.
Life is full of choices. Things happen as a result of choices made.
It's like choosing to walk with your eyes shut or your eyes open.
Close them and you're gonna have a lot of trouble. Open them and you can avoid a lot of trouble.
Sometimes we're watching where we're going but others aren't. Therefore WE have trouble because of the decisions of another person.
(Example : drunk driver)
For every action there is a reaction. It's the "cause and effect" system.

I do believe that everything happens for a reason...However on the other hand I do believe that although people have a set path there are different outcomes for the choices they make...like a choice A, B, C, D...and so on. I believe that we can control and alter our destiny by our choices and it is those choices that determine what happens.

Is life fair or unfair?
We are part of the circle of life of the nature and the nature works randomly. A lighting strike a person standing on the park or a kid develop cancer, I can find the reason to justify those events.

Most of life is geared to choices and decisions. ie, If you get a college education by choice, you will have a better life, if you go into a job right out of school with no education, you have severly limited your income and lifestyle by the choice you made. However, some coincidences do seem like divine intervention!!!!!
