It can get a bit overly climactic to wait for exactly one second. I usually stop it at two or three just in case the microwave tries to trick me by skipping that last second.

Yes! When we were first married I had my husband take apart our microwave and kill that bell...no more DING and it was awesome. The one we have now is mounted to the wall above the range so it's not so easy to tear apart. I hate that.

Hahaha, surprisingly, yes, I do.
Especially if I'm making something when everyone else is sleeping. Then the beeping will not go off. I mean, one second doesn't do much.

ya, i count down from 3, and then at mi-si-si i stop it, before it gets to mississippi, then get my food out, close the door, and press the start button again, and it beeps. great fun. it freaks out my birds.
