not recommended, your engine has much closer tolerances. The 40 means the thickness off the oil and 30 is thinner.

Sure, no problem. That's the oil that the manufacturer recommends
when the vehicle is new. When I get a lot of miles on a car I go to 10-40. But I wouldn't use any heavier because it causes higher pressure in the engine.

Yes you can use the 10W40. New cars are built to better tolerances than they once were that's why a 5W30 is recommended.
Many people go to the heaver weight oil during the summer months because they think the oil thins out less.
Review your owners manual for their recommendations; follow them if possible particularly if the car is still in warranty.

Yes you can but hwy would you want to. If your going to buy oil just buy what the manu recomends.
