I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my second child.
With my first child, i gained 32 pounds, and with this one, i've only gained 9 pounds and havent gained a pound at all in a month and a half. I asked my DR if the little weight gain was ok, and he said it should be fine if i take my prenatals and iron like im suppose to, but i really feel like he's not telling me something.
Anyone else have this problem?
I was over-weight when i became pregnant in the first place.

I had a similar problem.....I didn't gain any weight, I actually lost 5 lbs because I was too sick. (Hyperemisis). I delivered a 6 lb. healthy baby boy.

So your baby will be just fine :) Dont even worry mama!

I am the same way. I am 33 weeks pregnant with my first child. I've only gained 9 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. My Dr. tells me the same thing... As long as I take my vitamins and the baby's growing as she's supposed to everything will turn out fine. I was also overweight in the beginning. But you are not the only one! I'm going through the same thing!! Good luck and hope it helps to know that you are not alone!

When I was pregnant with my first child, I started my pregnancy at 229 and on my last ob visit I was 229. Go figure. My doctor said all was ok, during the entire pregnancy. My weight only dropped 1 visit down to 228. A few days after I had my son, I weighed 201... So, basically I was losing weight as I was gaining my "baby weight". My son was born 8lbs 5oz. Hope this helps.

I am in the same boat as you EXACTLY. I am now 37 weeks pregnant and I have only gained 13 lbs to date and at 32 weeks I had only gained 8 lbs. I was overweight to begin with as well so I wouldn't worry at alll. My doc said that the baby is taking from what I already have and as long as the baby is growing, your eating well, staying hydrated and taking vitamins, everything is perfect. Do NOT worry as long as your baby is healthy and be thankful to be one of the lucky ones!

hmm hopefully becasue you were overweight its evening out now, when was your last ultrasound, They measure the baby , how big was he/she? If it make you feel any better my mother told me she only gained 10 pounds with me,( she was very thin) though i was a month premature and and I came out weighing 4 pounds 11 oz. But i was still ok and healthy. I'm sure they would have told you something is anything was wrong.

Well, you need to consider that normally babies can weigh between 7-10 pounds (Some less, some more) and with the amniotic fluid, blood volume, etc, you are fine. As long as the baby is growing normally you don't need to worry.

Hopefully its nothing and your doctor is right, although im my mind I went straight for the "I watch too much discovery channel" answer, and maybe your baby is a dwarf. I dont know..lol. But its something to look into i guess.. *Good Luck and Smiles*

i think it's because it's your second and you already gained enough.

Maybe you're preganat with a primal dwarf. (I'm not kidding). I'd get a second opinion if I were you.
