In Sydney, acre for acre the land that surrounds our waterways is the most economically valuable because it is beautiful... it is where people want to live. It is also the most ecologically valuable... and it is mostly at risk.

What makes land valuable is location and because it is valuable the building on the land is usually also valuable. In most cities it is the tallest (most floor space per acre). However in capital cities it might be occupied by an historic capital building instead.
