The movie MEG (based on the Steve Alten book) is in production.
Avoid the Shark Attack movies, unless you want to laugh.
Deep Blue Sea is quite good.

Other non-shark underwater movies to check out -

Alligator
Piranha
Deep Rising
Orca

...if you can find them, these titles are pretty cool....extremely cheezy, with a more international flavor, but still pretty good!!!

"Great White" (1981)

"Cruel Jaws" (1995)

"Mako: The Jaws of Death" (1976)

"Tintorera" (1977)

"Mako..." is pretty easy to find, as it is in public domain, and "Tintorera" was officially/legally released here in the states, a couple of years ago, and should be easy to find.

The other two have not been officially released in the states ("The Last Shark" was, in fact, pulled from the theaters, back in '81, when Universal threatened to sue, over similarities to their shark classic, "Jaws"; I was lucky enough to catch the film before it was pulled); however, if you dig hard enough, you might still find them through private sellers, on DVD-R (that's how I got mine).

Heck, the exploitive movie posters of these films, coupled with the controversy of "Jaws" rip-off attempts, are reasons enough to seek out these films....
