I'm a great giver of hugs. Whenever I see someone, a friend, who looks tired or stressed I just want to hug them. Sometimes I ask if *I* can have a hug, so they don't think I'm some kind of weirdo; they're a lot more comfortable thinking they are the ones comforting me than having me just come along and muckle onto them.

The last time this happened was when my mum was over visiting. She is terminally ill and I need to give her all the hugs I can. It was the day she was leaving to go home. Sorry to sound heavy but you did ask!

Almost every day I have that urge with my son. I squeeze him and then pin him to the floor and give him kisses all over his face. He usually laughs and screams 'no way momma!"

Stress is caused by the brain overcoming the desire of the body to wring the living daylights out of the neck of someone who richly deserves it

Last week, I found out a teacher where I used to work had decided to retire. He was a little shocked when I gave him a bear hug.

I do. Just a few days ago my 12 year old son helped a kid a lot younger than he is. Made me very proud and whether he wanted it or not I hugged him.

I only ever want to hug my 13 year old son. No one else. Maybe that's slightly sad. I'll have to think about it.
