scissor size?
figure about 4 min for a 8 inch x 8 inch area.
thats if you setting in the yard.

I've only ever edged with scissors...i don't think i could keep a constant length if i tried to do the whole yard.

you are able to, yet i'm almost particular that the scissors could be even longer than your backyard mower. yet, in case you have adequate loose time and you're that lots of a perfectionist, then confident, use scissors.
