That may be the only way to fix US foreign policy and make our country respected again.

Apologize- no.

Take steps to ensure it doesn't happen anymore - yes.

One third of our total foreign aid budget goes to the 6th richest country in the world to help them oppress others and violate UN resolutions (currently over 30). Yet they seem to be immune to the punishment we unleashed on Iraq for violating a dozen.

The new president should not apologize, He should take steps to correct the misdeeds of his predecessors.

Actions speak louder than words.

No one should have to apologize for anything they didn't do. Its not the next president's fault for this war. Just like it isn't my fault that Americans used to own slaves so I will never apologize for enslaving blacks. Just because my Viking ancestors had Celtic slaves, doesn't mean I should apologize to the people of Great Britain, does it? Should the Muslims of America apologize for 9/11? No, they had nothing to do with it. Maybe the parents of the guys who flew into the towers ought to apologize, but that's about it. In Germany they teach kids in school to be ashamed of what happened in Germany (not a big deal right?)... not only that, but to be apologetic, but they had no control over the holocaust, so why should they be held accountable? I'm sick of this apologizing after the fact jazz. Just because people in your country, your religion, or your race did something bad that you had no control over doesn't mean that you should feel guilty for it and apologize... and no one should expect you to.

It's about as likely as the Islamic nut jobs that infect and parasitically inject their hatred into every host country they infect, apologizing for being the world's biggest scum bags.
Keep blaming the Jews for everything.
Hey, Libs - There's nothing more pathetic than a career "victim".

the iraq war is unfortunate. but i do not think we need to apologize to any muslim countries at all....and id like to know ur reasons why we should apologize for israeli oppression --- i think if it wasnt for the US israel wouldve been invaded, occupied, and left in ruins years ago.

No. An apology is not necessary. A clear and careful puulout of the middle east is necessary. We cannot continue to use the criminal acts of 9/11/01 as an excuse to make war on sovereign nations.

For me Yes He should be. Look people Unlike Bill clinton He make peace by word and action not an action and word like bush. He claiming himself a god as if he is the rule maker.

When ever he want to make a war he'll just say "there is al qaeda bla bla bla etc"

He is up to the oil! Thats why and he even made the shia and sunni fight! that isnt really good at all

President Bush ultimate goals were to end the regime of Saddam Hussein (which he did) and build a democratic Iraq. If anything, Bush should apologize to the next upcoming president for putting this country in substantial debt and the mass destruction he caused to our government.
