atomic number of
Ca=20
Ca2+=20-2=18 ...this is the atomic number of Ar

Li=3
Li+=3-1=2 ...this is the atomic number of He

Mg=12
Mg2+=12-2=10 ...this is the atomic number of Ne

Each element has lost electron(s), which changes their Atomic Number to give the following configurations (not the indicated Noble Element).
Ca (20 - 2) = 18 = Argon Ar (18)
Li (3 - 1) = 2 = Helium He (2)
Mg (12 -2) = Neon Ne (10)
