When I get this from a company I want to do business with I hang up and find someone else.
When it is a company I do business with I start pushing zero, pound and star until a live person comes online. I tell them I am an American and if they want to continue to do business with me they can get rid of the multicultural BS or I will move on to a company that supports our country.
Try it, if enough of us do it, they will change.
Stop being the silent majority, make sure your friends and family do the same, we can take our country back.

I will refuse to do business with any company where I have to press more than 1 button to speak to a person.
Shop locally. At my local hardware store, the owner (or sometimes his son) answers the phone. The credit union I deal with has 1 menu - "press 1 for automated services or stay on the line for customer service". Local businesses understand the meaning of "customer service". National companies, most of whom outsource their "customer service" calls to foreign countries, do not.
I dropped Verizon (among others) for exactly this reason. I refuse to waste my valuable time punching buttons to make their life easier.

I prefer the following
1. Mandate all government business be conducted in English.
2. Close down the border.
3. Anyone here illegally now has 6 months to learn English. It is then a federal crime to be here without a visa and not be able to speak English. It is thus immediate deportation.
The problem is as much as I would like to, we cannot force businesses to change this. We can however make it impossible for illegals to function here.

No, but I think that they should add "Marque dos por Espanol" and then roll straight to the English menu if nothing is pressed.
Better yet, have an American answer the phone. I HATE automated systems almost as much as I hate outsourced call centers manned by folks with limited English skills or unintelligible accents.

More like, "Press 1 for English from an Indian guy who is benefiting from the outsourcing of American jobs."

Excellent suggestion, let's make it a legislation priority and have Ms. Pelosli lead the crusade. Maybe, if we actually give her something to do, besides run the day-care business, she'll stop focusing on ways to make us loose this war!

The only reason why I'd like to learn Spanish is so that I can finally understand what he was saying when Ricky was yelling at Lucy all these years.

Worse than that is going through all of the ridiculous prompts and then ending up speaking to someone who can barely understand, much less speak English. Ain't life great?
BTW, sometimes you can continuously hit the zero and bypass much of that stuff. :)

How about pressing 6 for a language gossipy trash talkers can understand? It should be authored by the National Enquirer.
