The only answer I can come up with is that it would be deemed 'politically incorrect' and the people would start moaning.
Why can't authorities simply get the message across to muslims and other cultures that if they want to stay in our country (as most of them are immigrants which Tony let in!) then they have to abide by "our" rules, and intergrate into our way of life instead of complaining about how polictically incorrect society is (BBC has to be seen with at least 1 asian, black, white, welsh, scottish, and english man on the news...)
Any views anyone?

I agree with you SS4, but surely if they believe and live a culture that doesn't originate that of 'our' country, and that the minority of the UK is christian/catholic, why should we let them stay?

What Treving42 & VCD are saying makes a lot of sense.

I'm all for human rights and pc but they are going overboard as the years go by. Now, it's just downright ridiculous. Hellooo...? What happened to common sense? Seems to me that the Human Rights/PC brigade will be the downfall of the country. They seems to be oblivious to the problems they are creating. Do they actually live in our world? In this country? It WAS great but they need to evaluate their cause. Look at the circumstances.

The government should start getting their act together and actually do something about this overzealous PC that is destroying the very country and people they have sworn to protect. Tiptoe around it if they want to, but DO SOMETHING to protect the safety of the British people again!

They have a list of potential terrorist suspects and are supposedly keeping track on. How come the cities/airports etc still managed to get bombed? The government don't want to extradite criminals to their own country because they might be harm? To take care of their human rights? So what? What about them harming the British people in turn? What about their human rights? Why do the British government want to keep them on in UK? And then wait for them to bite the hands that was extended to protect them?

I'm not a racist (Oh why do I need to clarify this when I'm ranting?). I'm sorry if I seemed not being PC. It's sad, really. I never knew Britain would one day become a safe haven for criminals/terrorists/hate inciters. Why should the "minorities" want to integrate anyway? Almost everything in this country is catering to their every needs (nothing wrong as long as it was not taken advantage of). They don't need to speak English as everything is translated for them. How easy it is for them to say something, eg. racism, and the whole nation jumps to attention. What do they (the ones that are taking advantage of the system) care? They have PC on their side.

Goodness, I really sound disappointed.......guess I am. However saying all that, all is not lost. The society is still trying their best to make newcomers welcome to their country. I really admire the way people in this country still get on with their life in spite of the bomb attacks. The way they still retain their kindness.

Mutual respect and common sense are what we all need!

Blame the race relations bill it's so one sided as to be laughable,.
I imagine that prior to 7/7 if any non muslim had sensitive info on a muslim neighbour(born here or abroad) they would have thought twice about forwarding it to the authorities for fear of being labelled a racist and/or believing that they would be the one investigated such is the power of this past it's shelf life bill.

This very bill allows and even encourages ethnic enclaves to exist and remain as insular as they wish to be and at the same time this bill protects any interference from any quarter - what a luxury - what a liberty, it's multicultural for us but not all round what is sauce for the goose etc.

So if any UK government is asking for our help in weeding out potential terrorists in the making please amend this bill so that the 'native population' of this country has a level playing field in which to manoeuvre.

And yes the BBC with all it's johnny foreigners is bl00dy tragic..

Britain had never been a target for terrorists before 9/11 !, In fact the only major terror threat was from inside Britain (IRA).
Before 9/11 and for almost two decades, Britain welcomed religious asylum seekers from allover the world under the name of human rights and freedom of religion and speech !. Those who genuinely had religious views and wanted back by their government were actually terrorists but Britain refused to extradite them, again under the name of human rights and freedom of speech !. Many immigrants ( even nonreligious ) claimed that they were tortured in their countries because of their religious views (This was the easiest way to get in, have a free council flat or house and unemployment benefit paid from my and your taxes !).
When we joined the idiot in United states in the war on terror, we did not realise that we hosted a major number of terrorists who actually live between us and have the same ideology as the terrorists we went to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq !. Since 9/11, all those who have been quiet terrorists waged their war against us here in Britain !.
I believe the best thing to do, having realised the mistake is to pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan (Let them kill each other, why do we bother !), the other thing is to deal with the previously welcomed asylum seekers and extradite them to their countries to be tried there ( they are criminals and terrorists even in the eyes of their countries !).

I like your basic answer, however you should also analyze why there is this absurd trend to PC our life. How come the reasonable idea not to bully minorities by majorities has turned into the opposite: We are suddenly ruled by the minorities. And the majority turned into mindless sheep with idiots as shepards.

VCD is totally right and has given a brilliant response. Coincidentally, I too used the 'trojan horse' analogy a few days ago when discussing the huge mosque that may now be built in East London.

I could say a lot more but to be honest VCD has said it all, I only wish more Brits were equally as clued up.

Oh stop please! Dont you all realise that we are all descended from immigrants and invaders? Even our royal family are descended from Germans and until recently the house of Windsor was called Saxe-Coburg. Get a grip! As for taking "our" jobs, if we wernt so dam lazy and prefer to be on the soch because "why should we take a job that pays less" then there would be no jobs for immigrants to take an they would have no reason to come.Have a word with yourselves! By the way I do not live on a country estate as has been said. I live in Hackney and you cant get much more multi-cultural than that!

We are to political correct now, we worry more about the individual, then the majority, The leaders of this Gloria's historical country, have capitulated to other cultures, One reason' not to be branded as racist, Its like Americas Mc' Carthey, [communist] witch hunt, And the other reason is to catch votes from those immigrants, [there political job is more important then the welfare of this country] I am disgusted with those politicians.
