There are 50 states. However there are a few states that call themselves commonwealths. They are Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky. The rest of the country considers them states and they themselves are confused since they have state police, state taxes, state roads, and state flags.

You can look it up and find all of the 50 states
I had to learn all of them and remember them all in a week.
It was really hard!!!!!!!!!!!
