i went to add a printer found the right port and brand but the actual printer is not included under the brand its an hp photosmart 7150 it says if printer is not listed select one that is compatible no photosmart printers are listed theres office jet,desk jet, laser jet etc. can someone tell me what printer would be compatible?

Use the CD it came with or download the drivers from www.hp.com
Then install the drivers and ONLY CONNECT the PRINTER WHEN ASKED by the installer.

Hey wats the OS in ur computer. Even it is Win Vista, u have to download the driver for this printer. Bcoz, it do not have direct driver and it works with the alternative driver of Hp Deskjet 5150.
So go to the below site and download the driver first, then start the installtion.

I don't know what other printer would be compatibale. However, we had the same problem with a different printer and just had to download and remove until we found one that worked. From the hp website
