600 people

half of 600 = 300

a third of 600 = 600 /3 = 200

people sitting on the floor = 600 - 300 - 200 = 100

A.) 200 people sat on the floor

600/2=300
300/3=100

300+100=400,in total there should be 600 people,so 400+200=600,the rest is 200.

300-sat in chair
100-sat on the floor
200-sat on the desk.
