Why does the British gov. contradict it self & abandon the idea that our community is a diverse one?

* In public they say that British community is the most Diverse community!
* When something happen , they abandon that idea & forget about it completely!
* Today, the Security minster urged the neighbours to start spying on their neighbours! impleminting by that Saddam Husein's way of dictating the people & the neighbours will get worried from each other instead of helping each other ( distroying by that the spirit of neighbourhood).
** I think this step is a continuation of the previous government in loosing its compass in various aspects like Congestion charge, green tax, freeing early criminal prisoners& ...
COMPASS LOSING PHILOSOPHY!

I believe that politicians try to cheat the public when saying that " our community is a diverse one", they only saying it by their tongues, while hiding very bad feelings in theire hearts!! I experienced that my self in the MET service!!!

This is no longer OUR country and WE will never be listened to. Why not go the whole hog, dismantle the whole framework of law and order and declare Britain an open country for the whole world.

A multicultural community is an oxymoron. To be a community, a group needs to have a respectable amount in common (it's the same word) - to share, in a word, a culture.

When a country is diverse or multicultural to any great extent, it stops being one community and becomes a more or less loose federation of cultures. To some degree this must always happen. A Yorkshire miner always shared some of his culture with a Devon dairy-farmer, but there was a lot that differed. Now, however, we have accepted many immigrants with hugely different cultures, and they have not yet shaken down to find their place.

In the long run, this is not a worry. The Irish and the Jews arrived in large numbers about a century ago and were an apparent threat to social cohesion at the time; there was fighting in some working-class areas and some terrorism f(from the Fenians). Both these groups have integrated - no one notices them now unless they are called Quinn or Weinstein or something. The only thing is, they tend to go to different churches, and so what?

The same thing, given only ordinary good luck, will happen with the Muslims. We are in the middle of the toughest period. But cheer up; in a hundred years the brown skins will be as familiar and normal as the big noses or the red heads (like me; I'm half Irish).

Whilst the Security minister was likely wrong in asking people"to spy' on their fellows(!),he may be coming from ma
different viewpoint.
For it seems to me that the community does need more
"policing" and security; Perhaps not wealthy or isolated
communities.But im talking about the numerous areas in
each city and town,where,there is an almost "proud" and
indifferent attitude against the law,and lawful cooperative
behaviour.
For Britain needs Law and Order;and its imperative for
the success of a diverse community.
Its the "heart" of a society,and leftists or rightists should be
in no doubt of this.
To me, Britain is an overcrowded place too;and is "crying-
out" for an Encompassing and completely-sensibly population law; say, max 4 per family.
IN THIS WAY, Immigration would virtually vanish as a
problem;more importantly, the diversity that you talk-of and
and taxation and the criminal population which you also
mention - should all be under sensible and agreeable control, within a very short period.
Now, ISN"T THIS WHAT MOST DIVERSE BRITISH PEOPLE NEED?
But,of course, even a left wing so-called populist government
wont do this- they are too close to big business and like
most governments,dont really act until the (late)lasr minute!

(And thats one of the reasons i like a randomly selected and
free-er government to lead us!)

Security is part of (the great idea of) Law and Order.
Its about time the ordinary british person understood this.

I suppose, because the vast majority white, Christian, Anglo-Celtic, heterosexual population are sick to death of 'hand-wringing' politicians on BBC Question Time telling us that we should all rejoice in living in a multi-cultural nation of such wonderful diversity. We don't do anything of the sort. I am British ( English) and I want my government to tell me that it's wonderful to be British and to live in a nation that is British and not diverse or muti-cultural.
I can't quite see why you are getting agitated about 'losing compasses' or abandoning ideas about Britain being a diverse nation. This diversity rubbish has only been around for maybe 10 years at most, it's not as if it's been some kind of 'article of faith' for hundreds or thousands of years.
Come on! get real, it's just another leftie-liberal catch phrase that will die like all the rest of them.

Don't be diverse, just get a sense of humour.

The government itself is not diverse. That will only come with proportional representation which I believe is the only true democracy. The mode of politicians is white, middle aged, university graduates with plums in der gobs. Theyre a lifetime away from most of us in this country. What do they know of struggling to feed the kids, pay the mortgage, making the lecky last till payday?
