I hate misquitos biting me and i think its because of the fat on my legs that make them attract towards me because my arms are never bitten. Is this right or is there another reason. and is there a way to be rid of them because i do not like the sprays

Now there are places that sell Mosquito Shoo plants. These are nothing more that Citronella Plants. You can grow them indoors or outdoors and bring them inside in the winter. The plants have a very light and pleasant smell. You can get these plants at plant stores or plant departments as well as out of many catalogs. I have one that I have grown for over a year now. Mosquitoes do not come on my deck when I have the plant outside, and when I rub a leaf over my skin I do not get bothered at all with mosquitoes any where I go. You might get one of these plants and grow it for yourself. They are easy to grow and very low maintenance plants. The smell is very pleasant and light and their is no oily feeling to the plant or where you would rub it. I recommend these as this is a totally natural way to handle mosquito problems. Years and years ago these plants were grown and cultivated to be used as colognes and perfumes. This is very mild in strength. Strong enough to repel the mosquitoes but not strong enough to make you feel like you are wearing cologne or perfume not that you are using an insecticide. These plants are inexpensive and are very beautiful. Grow them for the beauty of the plant as well as for its ability to repel mosquitoes. One last thing mosquitoes are attracted to black or darker colored clothing. This might help also with the mosquito problems. Good luck.

Don't cut your bushes as advised in another answer. That's not going to rid your yard of mosquitoes. In the evening it seems that the mosquitoes hover nearer the grass. I always put my legs on an ottoman, cooler or what ever I have close by when sitting outdoors and that helps some. Even though you don't like sprays, etc, you probably should use something with DEET in it to keep them away (will also keep ticks off and help prevent Lyme disease). I have not found natural repellants like dryer sheets and Avon's Skin So Soft to work for me. In the Eastern/NE part of the U.S. Nile Fever is carried by lots of mosquitoes so the DEET would be a better defense for your skin. There are also sprays that contain permethrin that you can use on your grass. Don't buy a mosquito zapper. They don't work and kill too many good bugs. Good luck.

mosquitos cannot bite you as they have no teeth..they can sting you

but if you take brewers yeast in pill form ..this will cause the mosquitos to not sting you..it is only the females that do this..so go to a health food store..like GNC or Vitamnin world..they will help you out

Try Avon Skin-so-soft oil, it doesn't have that gassy smell like the repellants and it's good for your skin.

You can try these like mosquito candles just put them outside and lite it up. Mosquitos like bushes big one's that are pointy. If you have a big bush in your home then cut it.
