I have an idea about a new show and I am going to talk to a producer in California. Does anybody know what goes on? Like do they need a studio or do they have a director there? Do I need to talk a studio where the show would air?

Before you talk to anyone about the show, mail a copy to your self so it will be copywritten.

The producer is responsible finding locations or studios to film, finding a director and even nagotiating a contract with the station.

The producer is the key person. The will even find you a sponcership.

I have had friends that have produced shows on C.B.C. You cold e-mail them but I don't remember their e-mail. Google Massy Bros. or Hart Massy. The name of their show was titled Hart of the Anex. You can tell them that you know Jamie the magician and the should hook you up.

Good luck and keep smiling.

If your idea is any good it will be stolen. You should copyright it first. Or use a method to prove it was your idea originally....like write it on paper and mail it to yourself but don't open it. Also, a producer is a busy serious man and doesn't grant appointments unless he has an idea of what the subject is. This casts a shadow of doubt on the situation you presented.

The only qualification to be a producer is to say you are. This doesn't sound legit. Nobody who is anybody will talk to anyone except through an agent. Have realistic expectations about this.
