WE HAVE TO GO ACCORDING TO OUR CONSTITUTION. ONLY ELECTED PEOPLE ELECT THE PRESIDENT. IF IT GOES AS GENERAL ELECTION IT WILL BE COSTLIER GAME.

No, it is not necessary, nor is it even likely that all the people could be gotten to vote. Only legally registered voters are "allowed"to vote. The president is elected by counting electoral votes which are a count of really the number of electoral votes each state has, one for each representative in congress. By winning a majority of the popular votes in a state, the candidate then, under current law, wins all the electoral votes of that state.

after the episode of pratibha it looks necessary to caste vote by all the people to elect our president. you are right. it is very much ridiculous that the congress and communist get succeed to impose a person for the post of president against the will of people.

It depends upon the system.In india here is a parliment type of system(like england). President can't be elected by the people of india,but by the members of parliment and members of lagislative assemblies

are u in India or USA. If in India, we dont elect the President directly. The President is elected by the people who have been elected by us as MPs or MLAs.

in india we have parlimentory type of democracy, where ordinary people are not able to vote. There representative of people i.e. MP & MLA are electing president of behalf of the people.

It sure helps though. When you vote you vote in your state, and the winner of that state is the one who gets to pass their vote for the national candidates running. This allows your state to have as much weight on their votes as the populous states have.

Not necessary. Peoples' representatives are in
Legisltive assemblies and parliment. They will
vote on behalf of the public. Study politics.

Yes - in a democratic set up- governing for the people and by the people. But in another view - it is our proxies MLAs and MPs do that job. After all it is politics!
