Mine was doing that for a while. It turns out that the water in the hot water tank was not hot enough to clean dishes. It would heat the greasy stuff just enough to scatter the grease to the other dishes but not enough to wash it off.
I suggest checking your hot water heater before buying new stuff.

My sister has your problem to and some dishes will not survive the dishwasher because of the products and heat. All glass will become milky and the shiny film over your china will dissolve too. Some dishes are not qualified for cleaning in the dishwasher. I still do them by hand.

Another thing that works is to add a few tablespoons of 20 Mule Team Borax to the wash load.... I have had to do this when my dishes came out cloudy and with a film build-up. It cleans them right up.

I just had my dishwasher serviced. The repairman told me if the glasses come out cloudy it's from using too much dish detergent. Try cutting back and see if that helps. She also told us that glass magic (she said its available next to the dishwashing detergent( is really good to add to your wash cups, as it will make glasses sparkle. Hope that helps!

If none of these other ideas work, you have etched the glass and the cloudy look will never go away. Cutting down on detergent with new dishes will prevent the etching from happening.
